whet山her与f在表示“是否”时的用法差别：

I)在不定式前用whether,不用f。如本课句中的whether不能用if替换。2)引导一个主语从句或是一个表语从句时只能用whether。.如：

Whether he will go or not doesn't matter much.他去不去关系不大。

The problem is whether Mum will be back by ten o'clock.问题是妈妈能不能赶在十点前回来。

It is not known whether she will go with me.不知道她是否会与我一同去。

devote.…to+n.(v-ing)把投入（奉献）…(to是介词)》

注意：doubt后接hat引起的从句则是表示怀疑，而不是表示不敢确信某事。如：I doubt that they will come.我才不信他们会来。

be determined to do..相当于make up one's mind to do..(决心做某事)比较：determine to do..相当于decide to do.(决定去做某事)

l)what..引导一个表语从句，句中had been working是强调在was之前还一直在努力的状况。2)句中so不能改为too或quite,vey,因为后面的不定式to find是表示“结果”，相当于.…ohard that.结果状语从句。
